The Narnia scene works because Jill doesn’t argue with the lion about theology.
She just wants a drink of water.
And the lion doesn’t debate her. He just tells her the truth.
There is no other stream.
Most of our arguments about exclusivity miss this entirely. We turn a thirsty girl and a lion into a philosophy seminar. Lewis knew better.
The stream doesn’t become less real because we resent being thirsty.
