Jason, this was the best sermon I’ve ever heard you preach.
On Friday I was with two good friends, one of them who grew up Catholic and now rejects much about Roman Catholic theology but gets a lot out of a podcast series hosted by a catholic priest who takes listeners methodically through the whole bible. I think she was just weighed down by the fact that according to “them” she’s damned because she’s no longer catholic. She knows better but it still is confusing and disconcerting. I have felt a similar thing (although a lot less so, I’m sure) at times when I’ve sung in Catholic Churches for an extended time and am ineligible to take communion. At first it feels like a difference of opinion that I can respect, and then it starts to hurt. Anyway, I am going to share this with my two friends and also email you more of my thoughts...
